Water Sports

The Guisane river flows from the Col du Lautaret through the Serre Chevalier Valley.  Perfect as an introduction to white water activities as the Guisane doesn’t have any steep-sided gorges or raging torrents.  Although it can appear calm, it is an Alpine river and flows fast and strong as it approaches Briançon. So there are plenty of challenges for the more experienced enthusiasts.

A popular place to join the river is after the Guibertes rapids for a picturesque ride through La Salle les Alpes – watch out for the waves in Villeneuve!

A number of companies offer canoeing, kayaking and rafting for all ages and levels of experience.  Many also offer family packages which are a great full or half day excursion.
